Born Demi Gene Moore on November 11th, 1962 in Roswell, New Mexico. Her acting career began in 1981 with a role in a short film; she later became known as a member of the Brat Pack for her performances in the films Blame It on Rio (1984), St. Elmo’s Fire (1985), and About Last Night.. (1986).
The leading lady was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in Ghost (1990), the year’s highest-grossing film. A Few Good Men (1992), Indecent Proposal (1993), and Disclosure (1995) all brought in significant box office for her in the early 1990s (1994). After receiving an astonishing $12.5 million to feature in Striptease in 1996, Moore surpassed all other actresses as the highest-paid in cinematic history. It was a commercial and critical failure, and it marked the beginning of Moore’s long decline. Her Hollywood leading lady days were numbered after she starred in the box office bombs The Scarlet Letter (1995), The Juror (1996), and G.I. Jane (1997).
She has since made cameo appearances in movies such as The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996), The Hunchback of Notre Dame II (2002), Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle (2003), Bobby (2006), Mr. Brooks (2007), Margin Call (2011), and Rough Night (2017).
