While there is still a lot of baseball left to be played this season, the LA Dodgers have emerged as the odds-on favorites to win the 2022 World Series thanks to their best record in the Majors. The Dodgers have dominated this month, winning 18 of 22 games. They swept the Miami Marlins last weekend, who feature one of the finest pitchers in the league in Sandy Alcantara. Dodgers outfielders Freddie Freeman and Trey Turner, both former NL MVPs, have been unstoppable this season.
With the fourth-worst team OPS and the fourth-fewest runs scored this season, the Miami Marlins are now fourth in the NL East and far from Wild Card status. They have not had a winning record in a complete season since 2009. Miami’s lineup has struggled without All-Star second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr., who has been sidelined since late June with a lower back stress fracture. Miguel Rojas, shortstop for the Marlins, believes his club is under a lot of pressure.
Rojas told reporters from the Miami Herald, “This offensive can be so much better.” We need to be in the same sort of group and in sync, but we aren’t. We’ve had a lot of fights
